CHEESE NACHOS

Ingredients needed are the following:

120 ml cheddar cheese, shredded
2 pieces corn tortilla, fried
8 pieces jalapenos, drained
1 cup shredder lettuce
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup sour cream

Procedure:

Place shredded cheese over each tortilla. Arrange 4 jalapenos on top of each tortilla, one on each quarter, then place the tortilla in toaster to melt the cheese. While cheese is melting, place shredded lettuce on center plate then put salsa and sour cream over lettuce at opposite end. Remove tortilla from toaster oven and cut each into quarters around edge of plate and serve. This delightful meal is good for the kids.

ACHARA

Ingredients needs for this type food are the following:

Salt
1-1/2 kilos of sayote, cut into 1" strips
2 medium size carrots, cut into strips
20 pieces onions, peeled
1 sweet pepper, cut into strips
1 green pepper, cut into strips
1 piece ginger or luya

Instructions:

Put salt individually on vegetables and press to remove juice. Mix all vegetables. Place in a clean dry container then prepare pickle solution.

Pickle Solution ingredients:

2 cups native vinegar or tuba vinegar
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 table spoons salt

Instruction:

Mix all ingredients and bring to a boil. Strain. Pour over vegetables inside the container. Remove air bubbles. Pour in more pickle solution then cover tightly. This side dish is excellent with barbecue and other grilled foods.

BACON-SHRIMP WRAP

Ingredients needed are the following:

10 slices of bacon
400 grams shrimps
5 oz teriyaki sauce or soy sauce

Instructions:

slice bacon in half. Wrap around each shrimp. secure with toothpicks. Arrange in baking dish. Pour teriyaki sauce or soy sauce as an alternative, over bacon-shrimp wrap. Cover and refrigerate. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Still a good meal for kids and small parties. Less expensive and convenient to cook.

CHEESE SIOMAI

Things needed to make the cheese siomai are the following:

1 Cup cottage cheese
1 cup cooked fish fillet, flaked
2 tsps chopped kinchay
2tsps chopped onion
2 tsps minced carrots
2 tbsps minced celery
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Molo warppers

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients, except molo wrappers, in a bowl. Mix well. Drop 1 tablespoonful mixture at the center of molo wrappers, then fold. steam 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with soy sauce and calamansi or lemonsito. This is very good for the kids during merienda time.
